BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A prominent Whatcom County news outlet has named its next newsroom leader.

Cascadia Media Company announced this week Jonathan Martin will become their new editor-in-chief.

He will succeed former editor Ron Judd, who was fired in May due to differences with the company over their new quarterly magazine.

Martin spent more than two decades at the Seattle Times, including five years as investigations editor.

He will now direct the newsroom with Cascadia Daily News while helping to develop the company’s Cascadia Daily Life magazine.

Martin is set to begin his new role in September.
