BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Federal agents are getting involved in the search for a convicted felon who fled Whatcom County.

The FBI Seattle Field Office said that they’ve been asked by Bellingham Police to help locate 32-year-old Devariae Conley.

Conley was first arrested in 2020 on a domestic violence felony assault charge. Court records state Conley was accused of throwing his girlfriend against a wall and putting her in a headlock.

While awaiting trial for the first charge, Conley was arrested again for another assault charge and burglary allegation after arriving at a third person’s house in search of the girlfriend.

He was found guilty in February 2023, but escaped the area before his sentencing date.

In 2024, the person he assaulted in 2020 alleges that Conley threatened his life at a gas station in the York neighborhood before leaving the scene.

Aside from Bellingham, the FBI said that Conley has connections to Puyallup; Tuscon, AZ; Aurora, CO and the greater Los Angeles area.

He’s described as a 5’5″ black man with black hair and brown eyes, with tattoos on his chest and arms. Conley may go by the nicknames “Trella” or “Dominic.”

Anyone with information on Conley’s location is asked to contact either Bellingham Police or the FBI in Seattle.
