BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A man convicted of kidnapping and raping a teen in Bellingham has been sentenced.

42-year-old Darrin Moseley was sentenced to just over seven years in prison on June 14th.

Moseley was arrested in November of 2020 after the victim was able to call 911 from a shack he had kept her in.

He admitted to deputies that he had given the teen alcohol and marijuana and had sexually assaulted her.

Investigators later learned that both Moseley and the victim suffered from developmental disabilities and mental health issues, according to court documents.

At the time of his arrest, Moseley was a registered sex offender.

He will also spend three years on probation following his release from prison.
