LYNDEN, Wash. – Drivers should plan for an extended closure of East Pole Road later this month.
WSDOT says the month-long closure on State Route 544 will begin on August 21st, shortly after the Northwest Fair ends.
The closure is due to the construction of a new fish-passable culvert at an unnamed tributary to Fourmile Creek.
It aims to open the tributary to native species of fish like salmon and trout.
A signed detour will be in place to direct traffic around the work zone using State Route 546 on East Badger Road.
