LYNDEN, Wash. – We are going to feel a bit of a burn in our lungs today in Whatcom County.

More smoke from wildfires in the North Cascades made its way into our region overnight.

Air quality in Bellingham and areas closer to the coast are listed as “moderate,” according to monitoring website IQ Air.

But areas such as Ferndale, Lynden, and eastern Whatcom County have air pollution that is “unhealthy for sensitive groups.”

N95 masks are strongly recommended if you plan on spending any time outside.

And people are encouraged to invest in an air purifier or a simple box fan filter to prevent more particles from entering their lungs.
