Construction is starting to pick up with the arrival of spring in everywhere from neighborhood streets to high-traffic corridors.
WSDOT says there haven’t been any impacts to SB I-5, but travelers may notice some temporary fencing as a precaution to keep more rocks from reaching the road.
Crews will be repairing road shoulders in the area from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The highway is still closed at Diablo Lake due to a large rockslide.
All traffic heading northbound is still being diverted at the North Lake Samish exit (exit 246).
More updates about the cleanup and repair plan are expected to be announced by WSDOT on Wednesday, March 25.
Northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane in the same area during the same times Tuesday night through Thursday morning.
Anyone who comes across a “Water Over Roadway” sign should slow down and proceed with caution.
Drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes during this closure.
WSDOT has no estimated date of reopening the section impacted on Highway 20.
